Itinerary

Saturday, June 28—Depart from Chicago O’Hare International Airport on ITA Airways.  Dinner and breakfast will be served during the overnight flight.

Sunday, June 29—Arrive at Rome’s Leonard da Vinci Airport, where we will be met by a private touring bus for a day of exploring some of the highlights of Imperial Rome including the Roman Forum and Colosseum.  Then we’ll
celebrate Mass together in Albano, check into our hotel, and celebrate our welcome dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Monday, June 30—Breakfast at the hotel followed by visits to the Basilicas of St. Mary Major where we will celebrate Mass, and then on to St. John Lateran, the Holy Stair where Jesus walked in Jerusalem and the Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem. We’ll meet Precious Blood pilgrims from throughout the world for evening prayer at St. Paul Outside the Wall. Then dinner back at the hotel.

Tuesday, July 1—Solemnity of the
Precious Blood
—After breakfast, we depart of the Vatican for a tour of St. Peter’s, a
papal audience and Mass with Precious Blood pilgrims from throughout the world.  Lunch is on our own and then a visit to the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. 

Dinner will once again be at the hotel.

Wednesday, July 2—After breakfast, we will go on a walking tour of St. Gaspar’s Rome, visiting the place of his birth, the churches where he was baptized and preached when he was in Rome and other places that played a significant part in his life.

We’ll have the afternoon free to explore Rome on our own, as we’ll find a restaurant for dinner wherever we want.

Thursday, July 3—After breakfast we’ll head to the Abbey of San Felice, where the Missionaries were founded on August 15, 1815.  We will also celebrate Mass there.
Then we will head to Assisi where we can find some lunch and visit the famous Basilicas of St. Francis and St. Clare.  We’ll have dinner back at the hotel.

Friday, July 4—After breakfast we head to Acuto, where St. Maria de Mattias founded the Adorers of the Precious Blood.  We’ll celebrate Mass there and then head to Sonnino, where St. Gaspar preached a mission and saved a town from destruction.

We’ll celebrate our final dinner together at the hotel that evening.

Saturday, July 5—After an early breakfast, we’ll head back to the airport for our flight back to the US.
